RCSE-200
Remote Channel Selector
Instruction Manual
Introduction
The RCSE-200 is a remote channel selector option for use with the Pyramid SVR-200 vehicular repeater and the Ericsson Orion mobile. When installed in the mobile radio of a SVR-200 application, the RCSE-200 will allow the handheld operator to remotely change the mobile radio channel via a DTMF keypad. The RCSE-200 contains a microprocessor controlled voice synthesizer and will acknowledge the channel change request by announcing the selected channel over the SVR-200 portable link in a female voice. This provides positive acknowledgment for the handheld operator initiating the channel change request, as well as notifying other handheld operators on the link that the mobile channel has changed.
Channel selection is accomplished by sending the DTMF "*" followed by a two digit channel request. Additionally, the RCSE-200 can be pre programmed with one revert channel that is accessed by sending a double "*" sequence; the revert channel may be any channel number up to 99.
The RCSE-200 is designed to specifically work with the M/A Com Orion series of mobiles and accesses the high speed data bus for selecting channels. The RCSE-200 is capable of changing channels in one group of the Orion mobile.

Additional Modifications (RCSE-200): NONE
NOTE: The wires can be soldered directly to the connector or optionally to vias or traces connectedto the pins. An Ohm meter can be used to verify pads connected to J702 pins.
Additional Modifications (Radio):
- Mount the RCSE-200 inside of the logic compartment in the Aegis
voice scrambler socket and make the wire connections as indicated above.
- Make sure the SVR-200 is programmed for local Mic repeat. Ensure
solder jumpers J4, J5 & J6 on the SVR-200 control board are installed.
- Program home channel as channel 1 in the group you wish to change
channels in. Home channel is programmed as the Emergency channel
(F7 options, F8 More, F3 GESTAR).
Alignment
To set the voice deviation level, short the PCB test pads adjacent to RV1. The RCSE-200 will assert the PTT line and count from one to ten. Adjust RV1 for proper deviation level (low distortion of the voice).
